Research Statistician
Nielsen, Schaumburg, IL
This position is responsible for development of and enhancement of statistical algorithms used to ensure quality of incoming scanning data. Using scanning data to conduct research related to questions posed by internal and external clients, this position must interact with members of Measurement Science, other Nielsen staff, and occasionally external clients to further development of products or research into questions around current products or data. Ideal candidate will be thorough and detail-oriented with a natural curiosity and propensity to research, analyze and question.
Requirements
Skills:
- Some experience with SAS is required but an expert command of the language is preferred
- Prior research experience
- Experience manipulating and summarizing very large data sets
- Experience with Excel
- Self-motivated
- Able to work independently yet work effectively in large or small teams
- Ability to lead a small team of researchers engaged in research related to projects already underway
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail but is able to generalize results and see broad applicability or extensions.
